How to export your old multisig Bitcoin.com Wallet (v5.13 and below)

Summary

The old multisig Bitcoin.com Wallet app (v5.13 and below) is being deprecated on June 13, 2022. We recommend that you export your seed phrase to a new wallet, such as the updated Bitcoin.com Wallet app, which now supports multisig (shared wallets).

How to export your old multisig Bitcoin.com Wallet app

You will need to get your shared wallet’s 12-word recovery phrase from the old wallet

Step 1:

Click into your shared wallet.

Step 2:

Tap the "Settings" cog in the top-right corner.

Step 3:

Select “Backup.”

Step 4:

Write down your 12-word recovery phrase on a piece of paper.

You’re done! Using your 12-word recovery phrase, you can now import your wallet to a new client. We recommend the new Bitcoin.com Wallet, which now supports mulitsig (shared wallets). Read on for instructions on how to import your multisig/shared wallet(s) to the new Bitcoin.com Wallet app.

How to import a multisig (shared) wallet to the new Bitcoin.com Wallet app

Step 1:

Open the new Bitcoin.com Wallet app and, on the "Home" screen, tap "ADD/IMPORT".

Step 2:

Select "+Import wallet".

Step 3:

Select the "Asset Type", Bitcoin Cash (BCH) or Bitcoin (BTC) depending on what currency wallet you are importing.

Step 4:

Under "Wallet Type" select "Shared Wallet".

Step 5:

Under "Recovery Phrase" enter your shared wallet’s 12-word recovery phrase and tap "IMPORT".

Step 6:

Verify other co-payers have successfully imported their seeds.

Your Shared wallet is now imported to the new Bitcoin.com Wallet app!
