Summary

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Bitcoin (BTC) are irreversible payment systems, meaning transactions cannot be reversed. For missing funds, check the receiving address using a block explorer, and confirm the correct address was used. Always back up your wallet to prevent losing access to your funds.

I Sent Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to a Bitcoin (BTC) Address or Vice Versa

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Bitcoin (BTC) are both irreversible payment systems. This means that, unfortunately, there is no way to reverse a sent transaction or for you to recover the BCH from your end.

If you have sent BCH to a BTC address, you will need to ask the receiving party to recover the BCH funds. If they do not know how to recover BCH from their BTC address, they will need to contact their wallet provider's support team.

If you have sent the BCH to your own BTC wallet without using the swap feature in the Bitcoin.com Wallet app, please refer to this article.

My sent funds are not showing

If you have sent Bitcoin (BTC) or Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to someone, but they say the cryptocurrency never arrived, please check the receiving address on our block explorer.

Read more about how to use our block explorer here.

You can send the block explorer URL as "proof of payment" to the recipient. To find the link, tap on the "Funds" tab, select the correct wallet, and go to the Transactions section. Tap on the relevant transaction, then select "Share transaction" to share the link with the user.

If the recipient says they didn’t receive the cryptocurrency, ask them to double-check the receiving address. If the address is correct but they can't see the funds, you may have accidentally sent BCH to a BTC address, or vice versa.

Please note: Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Bitcoin (BTC) are irreversible payment systems, so once a transaction is sent, it cannot be reversed, and you cannot recover the funds on your end.

I sent my funds to the wrong address

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Bitcoin (BTC) are irreversible payment systems, which means once a transaction is sent, it cannot be undone. If you’ve sent funds to an incorrect address, unfortunately, there is no way to recover them.

Please note that Bitcoin.com does not control Bitcoin in any way. We do not send, receive, or store any Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash.

Please read our Getting Started section to learn more about Bitcoin, how it works, and how to use it. You may also find our Bitcoin.com Wallet app FAQ pages useful.

Always remember to back up your Bitcoin.com wallet(s). We cannot assist with recovery if the wallet hasn't been backed up or if the backup phrase is missing.

Please note Bitcoin.com does not have access to the private keys of your Bitcoin.com Wallet, and therefore we have no control over funds or any transactions made.
