I sent Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to a Bitcoin (BTC) wallet address or vice versa

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Bitcoin (BTC) are both irreversible payment systems. This means that, unfortunately, there is no way to reverse a sent transaction or for you to recover the BCH from your end. That being said, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) can usually be recovered from a Bitcoin (BTC) address. However, note that this can only be done from the "Receivers" end. Please refer to this article.

If you have sent BCH to a BTC address, you will need to ask the receiving party to recover the BCH funds. If they do not know how to recover BCH from their BTC address, they will need to contact their wallet provider's support team.

If you have sent the BCH to your own BTC wallet without using the swap feature in the Bitcoin.com Wallet app, please refer to this article.

My sent funds are not showing

If you have sent Bitcoin (BTC) or Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to someone, but they say the cryptocurrency never arrived, please check the receiving address on our block explorer. Read more about how to use our block explorer here.

You can send the block explorer URL link as "proof-of-payment" to the recipient.

If the recipient states that they did not receive the cryptocurrency, please ask them to confirm the receiving address. If you have sent to the correct address, but the recipient cannot see the sent cryptocurrency in their wallet, you may have mistakenly sent BCH to a BTC address or vice-versa.

The recovery instructions here will only work for the Bitcoin.com Wallet app, and only if you are the "receiving" party.

I sent my funds to the wrong address

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Bitcoin (BTC) are irreversible payment systems, so there is no way to reverse a sent transaction. If you have sent to or provided an incorrect address when purchasing BCH or BTC and the cryptocurrency has already been sent to that address, then, unfortunately, there is likely no way for you to recover the funds.

Please note that Bitcoin.com doesn't control Bitcoin in any way. We also don't send, receive, or store any bitcoins.

Please read our Getting Started section to learn more about Bitcoin, how it works, and how to use it. You may also find our Bitcoin.com Wallet app FAQ pages useful.

Always remember to backup your Bitcoin.com wallet(s). We cannot help the user with recovery if they haven't backed up their wallet, and don't have the backup phrase.

Please note Bitcoin.com does not have access to the private keys of your Bitcoin.com Wallet, and therefore we have no control over funds or any transactions made.
