In the last article, we learned how to set up and use Shared Wallets. In this article, we will discover how to unlock access to thousands of decentralized applications (DApps) from the Bitcoin.com Wallet app.
Decentralized Applications (DApps) are an important and powerful part of the crypto ecosystem. There are thousands of DApps ranging from financial services, to art and music, to video games. Blockchain technology enables enterprising projects to quickly create useful DApps without the permission of big tech companies or financial institutions.
Let’s look at two ways to connect to DApps on mobile and desktop. The DApp we will connect to in the example below is The Verse DEX, Bitcoin.com’s decentralized exchange.
Mobile
On your mobile device’s browser, navigate to the DApp you’d like to use. Eg: The Verse DEX (verse.bitcoin.com)
Look for the “Connect Wallet” section of the DApp and choose WalletConnect as the connection method.
Select Bitcoin.com Wallet as the wallet to connect to.
In your Bitcoin.com Wallet app, approve the connection request and you’re done!
Desktop
On your desktop device’s browser, navigate to the DApp you’d like to use. Eg: The Verse DEX (verse.bitcoin.com).
Look for the “Connect Wallet” section of the DApp and choose WalletConnect as the connection method.
Select “Show QR code”
Open your Bitcoin.com Wallet app and tap the camera icon in the top-right corner of the home screen.
Scan the QR code that’s displayed on the DApp on your desktop device’s mobile browser.
Approve the connection request and you’re done!
And that's it! Now you know how to connect to thousands of DApps, unlocking a huge range of use cases for cryptocurrencies.
