How to use WalletConnect in the Bitcoin.com Wallet

Learn how to connect the Bitcoin.com Wallet to your favorite DApps and securely transact on them using your Wallet.

Summary

You can connect your Bitcoin.com Wallet app to external decentralized applications (DApps). Once connected, you can create transactions on the DApp and approve or deny them in the Bitcoin.com Wallet app.

Connecting to DApps with the Bitcoin.com Wallet app on Mobile

  1. On your mobile device’s browser, navigate to the DApp you’d like to use. Eg: The Verse DEX (verse.bitcoin.com)

  2. Look for the “Connect Wallet” section of the DApp and choose WalletConnect as the connection method.

  3. Select Bitcoin.com Wallet as the wallet to connect to

  4. In your Bitcoin.com Wallet, approve the connection request and you’re done!

Connecting to DApps with the Bitcoin.com Wallet on Desktop

  1. On your desktop device’s browser, navigate to the DApp you’d like to use. Eg: The Verse DEX (verse.bitcoin.com).

  2. Look for the “Connect Wallet” section of the DApp and choose WalletConnect as the connection method.

  3. Select “Show QR code”

  4. Open your Bitcoin.com Wallet app and tap the camera icon in the top-right corner of the home screen.

  5. Scan the QR code that’s displayed on the DApp on your desktop device’s mobile browser.

  6. Approve the connection request and you’re done!

Using DApps with the Bitcoin.com Wallet

  1. Once you’ve connected your Bitcoin.com Wallet to the DApp you’d like to use, simply initiate a transaction on the DApp.

  2. Use your Bitcoin.com Wallet to approve or deny transaction requests.

In the below example, we’re adding liquidity to a trading pair on the Verse DEX:

Tip: When you’re done using the DApp, you can manually disconnect from it by tapping the DApp icon at the top-right of your Bitcoin.com Wallet apps’ home screen and selecting “DISCONNECT.”

What to do if you are having trouble connecting to a DApp using WalletConnect

The WalletConnect protocol is in the process of transitioning from V1 to V2. This may result in connection issues to some DApps during the transition period. Please see this article for more details.
