At Bitcoin.com we use 3rd party merchants to process 'buy' transactions.
3rd party merchants process crypto payments. It allows people to buy and sell cryptocurrency using debit and credit card, bank transfers and mobile payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay......etc).
Some of these 3rd party merchants are listed:
These are the most common reasons for declined transactions.
Limit Exceeded: the attempted transaction exceeds the limit on the account.
Unable to verify your identity in time: occurs when complete KYC documents are not submitted.
Your card has been declined for an unknown reason. You should contact your bank for more information: occurs when a bank continues to decline transactions processed on the same card over & over.
Your transaction has been cancelled because we were unable to accept your transaction: 3rd party merchant automated system detects and flags a specific transaction.
Your transaction has been cancelled as we did not receive your bank transfer within seven days: occurs when a 3rd party merchant does not receive the payment on time.
Not 3-D secured: this is an additional layer of cardholder authentication on Visa and MasterCard transactions. This option must be enabled from user's bank.
Insufficient Funds: the account did not have sufficient funds to cover the amount at a time of the transaction.
Expired Card: a user will need to use a valid card.
Invalid Expiration Date: a user entered an invalid payment method or made a typo in their card expiration date.
Card Issuer Declined CVV: a user entered an invalid security code or made a typo in their card information.
How to resolve the issue:
Contact the bank and request for the payment to be approved.
Try again at a later time.
Use a different credit card.
We recommend using a PC/desktop to try one of the alternative buy options 👇
For declined transactions any payment authorizations placed on the card will be reversed (this can take up to 10 working days depending on user bank).
For banks with the highest approval buy rate, please refer to Crypto-Friendly Banks article.
